Two Brothers, One Machine, Every Stump in DFW
Grind Texas is a two-brother stump grinding company based in Richardson, Texas. James and John started the outfit in 2026 with a simple bet: do one thing — stump grinding — better than anyone doing it as a side service.
Why only stumps?
Most stump grinding in DFW is a tree company’s afterthought — the last line on a big invoice, done with whatever machine is on the truck. We went the other way. Stumps are the whole business: one professional machine (a 2021 Bandit SG40 — track-mounted so it doesn’t tear up lawns, sized to fit a standard 36-inch gate), two operators who run it every day, and scheduled routes across 89 cities in the Metroplex. Because we batch jobs by area, our machine-plus-operator price usually lands about where a day’s rental does — without you losing the Saturday.
How we work
- Quotes from photos, not site visits. Text a picture of your stump to (940) 293-2715 and one of us — not a call center — reads it, prices it, and texts back a firm number, usually within minutes.
- One of us on every job. The person who quoted your stump is the person who grinds it. No subbed-out crews, no strangers in your yard.
- Below grade, cleaned up. Stump and root crown ground out deep enough to mow, sod, or replant over; chips raked back as clean backfill, or hauled off if you ask.

Every job photo on this site is from an actual Grind Texas job — the before & after project pages, the gallery, the machine. Our reviews pull live from our Google profile. And when the honest answer is that you don’t need us — like a multi-stump acreage job where renting genuinely wins — we say so in writing.
